Health Coach Program Assessment FAQ
Commonly asked questions on the assessment requirements
How much detail do I need to include in my logbook?
Watch the video with PREKURE's lead coach Sonya and have a look at the example logbook here. Use this as a guide to the level of detail required.
How do I log my coaching hours?
You can log any practice sessions outside of your coaching labs. For example, a 30-minute session counts as 30 minutes toward the required 25 hours for your assessment.
Coaching Gym exception: When attending a Coaching Gym session, you may log this as 1 hour (60 minutes) even if you coach for only 20 minutes. This accounts for the valuable feedback received from the PREKURE coaching faculty, students, and graduates. Please mark this entry with "CG" in your logbook.
Coaching outside of the Gym: If coaching fellow students or graduates outside of the Coaching Gym, log only the time you spend actively coaching. For instance, 20 minutes of coaching equals 20 minutes in your logbook.

How long will I have to wait to hear if I’ve passed?
Assessment marking can take up to 1 month. We know you’re eager to hear back – we’ll try our best to let you know as soon as we can.
What happens when I pass?
You’ll get an email from your marker letting you know that you have met the requirements – yay! They’ll also attach a copy of your marking guide and some feedback to help you grow as a coach.
What happens if I don’t meet the criteria on my first try?
If your assessment doesn't meet the criteria on the first attempt, don’t worry – that's okay! The PREKURE team is here to support you, and we’ll work with you to help you resubmit. Your marker will provide clear guidance on what’s needed for your resubmission, so you can succeed and continue to thrive.
Why would my assessment be sent back to me for revision?
- Your logbook is less than 25 hours
- You have not completed your PK100 courses
- Your coaching session is audio-only
- Your coaching session is less than 20 minutes or more than 45 minutes
- The audio or video of your coaching session is unclear
- Your logbook is handwritten
How do I get my certificate and brand marks?
The student success team will be in touch after you have passed your assessment with a digital copy of your certificate and your Health Coach brand mark.
What’s the story with graduation?
Once you’ve passed your Health Coaching Assessment, you’ll be informed that you’re eligible to graduate and attend our in person graduation ceremony. Exciting! Closer to the date of the graduation ceremony you’ll be sent all the details you need.
Do I need to register with a Professional Health Coach Body straight after passing my HCP assessment?
No, you don’t need to do it straight away. You will need to do this within 12 months of graduating from your program of study (e.g. the Nutrition & Metabolic Health Coach Program) if you want to continue using your PREKURE brand mark and be eligible to be listed on our Health Coach Directory.
When do I need to register with a professional body?
On graduation (once you have passed your assessment) you should register with a Health Coaching body and maintain this registration.
Health Coaching professional bodies include: HCANZA, UKIHCA, HCA. You can visit their websites directly for more information on registration and CPD requirements.
Note: Some professional bodies may have specific registration timeframes after graduation. If you plan to delay registration, please contact the relevant body for guidance.
HCANZA: You can apply for HCANZA membership up to 3 years after Graduation from the Health Coach Program or any of our Advanced Programs. After 3 years with no relevant CPD you would be at the upper limit. If in the last 3 years, you had done any programs that might count as CPD – HCANZA are open to considering them on a case-by-case basis.
UKIHCA: Graduating Students of the PREKURE Master Coach Program are welcome to join as a FULL member at anytime but if you also wish to gain Registered Health Coach status (and be listed on the UKIHCA-RHC Register) you need to join within 12-months of completing the Programme.
If a graduate of the PREKURE Master Coach Program wishes to join beyond the 12-month completion date, UKIHCA would still offer a FULL membership but would request evidence of 25 hours CPD (pro-rata per year) to gain Registered Health Coach status.
What if I have more questions?
