How can I use non-approved courses towards my CPD for HCANZA.

Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Guidelines for Members.

HCANZA allow members to use non-accredited courses towards your CPD, at a 0.5 point per hour of study. Please download the Continuous Professional Development Guidelines for Members (March 2024) for more information.

PREKURE individual courses, for example PK207, PK208 are worth 45 hours of study and can be used as non-approved courses. Please read the above CPD Guidelines document as there are restrictions on how many points can be from one area, i.e. Health and wellness coaching skills or Healthy Lifestyle content.

How CPD Hours Are Counted
  • While full programmes are approved Health Coaching Programmes by HCANZA, they are not all individually listed as approved CPD courses.
  • The exception is the Introduction to Mental Health Tools (IMHT) course, which is a HCANZA-approved CPD course worth 4.5 CPD hours.
  • For other learning not on the approved CPD list, HCANZA generally awards 0.5 CPD points per hour of learning.
  • Please refer to HCANZA’s guidelines for more on how this is calculated and which courses qualify.
