how do i change my name on zoom?

Before or Outside a Meeting (when using the Zoom Desktop App)

1. Open the Zoom desktop app.

2. Click your profile picture (top right corner).

3. Select Settings > Profile > Edit My Profile (this opens Zoom in your web browser).

4. Click Edit next to your name.

5. Change your First Name and/or Last Name, then click Save Changes.

During a Meeting

1. Hover over your video tile.

2. Click ... (More) > Rename.

3. Enter your preferred display name and click OK.

🔹 Note: This change is temporary and resets after the meeting unless changed permanently through your profile.

🔹Change Your Name During a Meeting (In Browser ie Google)

1. Click the "Participants" button in the toolbar at the bottom.

2. Hover over your name in the participants list.

3. Click "More", then select "Rename".

4. Type your new name and click OK.

🔄 This is a temporary change, lasting only for that session.

🔹 Change Your Zoom Name Permanently (Using Browser Account)

If you have a Zoom account, you can change your name permanently via your browser:

1. Go to https://zoom.us/profile.

2. Sign in with your Zoom credentials.

3. Click the "Edit" button next to your name.

4. Change your First Name and/or Last Name.

5. Click Save Changes.

🔐 If you’re using a school or company-managed Zoom account, this option might be locked. You’ll need to ask your administrator to change it.
