What Supervision do I need for my Mental Health Coaching?

What are the requirements for Mental Health Coaches?

You must undergo 4 x supervision sessions per year. We recommend that Mental Health coaching supervision is undertaken with a registered psychologist or a health professional with specific training in supervision. Sharon Tomkins, Anna De Valk, Sonya English and Sophia Dawson are all recommended.

Here are links to their respective websites/contact details:

Sonya English - https://hcanza.org/coach/sonya-english

Sophia Dawson (Bloomers Psychology) - https://bloomerspsychology.co.nz

Sharon Tomkins (Zeal Coaching) - https://www.zealcoaching.co.nz, sharon@zealcoaching.co.nz

Anna De Valk - anna@nzicoaching.co.nz

Sharon and Anna also now offer a group supervision program.

If you would like to choose another supervisor, here are the criteria they would need to meet:

  • Membership with a relevant professional body (e.g. HCANZA, ICF, UKIHCA, HCA) .

  • A relevant coaching supervision qualification (e.g. Association of Coaching Supervisors). At a minimum, must have coaching supervision experience and to be able to supply evidence.

  • Membership of a Supervision body (e.g. Association of Coaching Supervisors).

Or

  • A qualified and registered psychologist.
