How do I start practising as a health coach?

Registering with HCANZA is strongly recommended for credibility, then apply on their website using your PREKURE certificate and set up practice.

It is recommended that health coaches register with HCANZA, the Health Coaches Association of New Zealand and Australia (HCANZA), the professional body for health coaches in NZ and Australia. Registering with HCANZA is not a requirement to practise as a health coach but is strongly recommended as it offers credibility and valuable resources.

To begin the registration process, visit the HCANZA website. There, you will find detailed information about the various membership options available, as well as the required insurances. Your health coach certificate from PREKURE should serve as sufficient proof of completing an appropriate qualification.

Once you have selected the membership option that suits you best, complete the registration application on the HCANZA website. Once your registration is confirmed, you can establish your own practice as a health coach.

In addition to registering with HCANZA, stay connected in the PREKURE all-students Facebook group. This is a useful place to post questions, as many graduates in the group are practising health coaches too. It is a platform for networking and connecting with fellow professionals.
