Is it okay to use AI to help me write up my log book?

Yes - you can use AI tools to support your logbook writing, as long as you use them ethically and responsibly.

At PREKURE, we encourage students to use AI to make their work easier, faster, and more polished. For example, if you’ve written rough notes and want help tidying them up into clearer sentences or improving flow and grammar, AI can be a great tool.

However, there are two important cautions:

Protect confidentiality.
Never enter any identifiable client or peer information into AI tools. Make sure all data is anonymised or de-identified so that no individual can be recognised or re-identified. This is essential to maintain ethical and professional standards.
Do your own reflective work.
AI can help you express your reflections more clearly, but it should not do the thinking or reflecting for you. The learning and insight that come from reflection are yours alone - that’s what the logbook is all about.
